Vistarian Model Cabinet (VMC)
VMC is a conference to simulate the cabinet discussions in Singapore. Students take on the role of ministers and representatives of statutory boards to explore relevant issues faced by Singapore.
Our VMC features 5 distinct cabinets to allow participants to discuss a wide array of security, economic or political issues. Students formulate practical and feasible solutions to deal with these issues. Through this process, students will understand complex and multi-faceted challenges faced by Singapore, and that every proposed solution having their merits and demerits.
The format of a Model Cabinet session also creates an environment where students can analyse and negotiate complex situations, and at the same time be inspired to show concern for the society. Through this activity, we seek to equip students with 21st century competencies such as civic literacy, global awareness and cross-cultural skills.
