The Science department aims to nurture our students to have a life-long passion for Science through student-centred activities that promote scientific thought and academic excellence. Through skills development in scientific experimentation, critical thinking and problem-solving, our students will become confident citizens of the 21st Century who possess deep understanding of scientific ideas and are able to tackle Science-related problems and communicate scientific ideas with ease and clarity.
Our curriculum and programmes are designed to Engage, Excite and Enrich students’ learning. These include workshops at the Science Centre and Science competitions organised by tertiary institutions. In addition, our school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) provides students differentiated, experiential and authentic learning experiences that guide students to explore and apply scientific reasoning, methodologies and theories in their daily lives. Through these programmes, we seek to arouse our students’ curiosity and develop them for the world of possibilities.
To reach out to primary schools in the neighbourhood, the department also initiated WoW! with Science, a workshop which exposes participants to science concepts from the three disciplines (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) through hands-on activities and interesting experiments specially designed by our teachers and facilitated by our students.
