(iv) Providing opportunities for Specialised League student leaders to be leadership mentors

With their honed leadership skills and experience, Specialised League student leaders will be expected to drive the learning and development of the junior student leaders by serving as advisors to the organising committees for Sec 1 Orientation, Sec 1 Leadership Camp, Emerging Stars and Prefects’ Camp.

Selected senior student leaders will also undergo the Student Leadership Practices Inventory (Student LPI) 360 Online assessment.  The Student LPI lets students accurately measure their leadership skills based on Kouzes and Posner’s Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and take action to improve their effectiveness as leadership mentors.

(v) Recognising student leaders through the LEAPS 2.0 framework

The NV Student Leadership Committee takes into consideration the LEAPS 2.0 framework when designing positions of responsibility for students. The LEAPS 2.0 framework recognises students’ ability to take charge of personal development, work in a team and assume responsibilities in service of others. In addition to formal leadership appointments, participation in student leadership modules/workshops, leadership positions in the school, CCA or student-initiated/student-led projects will also be recognised.
