NVSJB is a vibrant and dynamic CCA. Wound bandaging and life-saving skills aside, cadets will also be given the opportunities to experience kayaking, hospital attachment, camping, archery and many more. The exciting training programmes aim to provide holistic developments for our cadets who are looking out to develop their leadership and gain skills that are essential to manage new situations.

In April 2015, the cadets came together as a team to plan and organise their own unique kindness campaign titled “Kindness Block” where neighbours were encouraged to write notes of appreciation and encouragement to one another.
The project was targeted at residents in an estate in Rivervale to improve relationship between neighbours. The idea was sparked off as the cadets realised that there is a lack of ties among neighbours living under the same roof.
The cadets divided the workload among themselves to ease the planning. Besides the project manager and treasurer, every other member was a leader of a department. There are a total of five different departments – publicity, logistics, design, food and beverages and games.
Two carnivals were held to facilitate the process to spread awareness and kindness to the residents. The first carnival was the opening ceremony that was held in July 2015 to launch the kindness board at the common noticeboard in the estate and initiate the note writing process. We look forward to seeing more outgoing and socially active Secondary One students to join us this year who will continue leading NVSJB to greater heights.
